Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
The Customer Service Representative plays an important role in supporting Farmer Services operations and general office functions within the Winnipeg office. This position helps ensure strong customer service delivery, efficient office coordination, and consistent in-office coverage for collaboration and workplace safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking hands-on experience in customer service, office administration, and cross-functional teamwork within a professional business environment.
This is a term role from September to December 2026.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to media subscribers and classifieds customers to support renewals, strengthen relationships, and gather actionable feedback.
- Handle inbound inquiries related to subscriptions, billing, account updates, and product information in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent GFM professionally in all customer interactions, ensuring a high level of service and escalating issues as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within CRM systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Assist with day-to-day Farmer Services administrative tasks, supporting workflow processes and team operations.
- Provide support for internal documentation, data entry, reporting, and process tracking to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with basic accounting tasks such as invoice preparation, payment tracking, reconciliations support, and coordination with finance teams as needed.
- Help coordinate cross-departmental projects and internal initiatives, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of events, including communications, materials preparation, and post-event follow-up activities.
- Provide on-site office support to ensure consistent in-office coverage and smooth daily operations.
- Assist with reception duties, courier coordination, office organization, and other general administrative responsibilities as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for improving service processes and workflow efficiencies.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives, including those related to customer engagement, process improvements, and event planning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (business, communications, agriculture, administration, or related field preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional phone manner and customer-focused mindset.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, dependable, and collaborative team player.
- Comfortable working full-time in an in-office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
Working Conditions
- Full-time, in-office role in Winnipeg.
