Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
We are seeking temporary People Mover Driver contractors to operate agricultural tractors with shuttle wagons during shows. As a People Mover Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting guests throughout the show site, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of traffic. This position requires adept driving skills and a keen awareness of guest safety. Join us in delivering exceptional guest experiences during this exciting event.
The duration of this role will be from September 9th-11th, 2025.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drive tractor and/or truck with people mover attached throughout the show site, adhering to the designated route provided.
- Uphold public safety standards through responsible driving practices.
- Stop at designated people mover stops to facilitate the smooth pick-up and drop-off of attendees.
- Accompany special tours with distinct routes as required, following pre-assigned itineraries and instructions provided in advance.
- Ensure all equipment is adequately fueled before commencing operations to prevent disruptions in service.
- Conduct thorough pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure functionality and safety standards are met.
Qualifications
- Possess valid driver's license.
- Demonstrate expertise in safely towing trailers, securing cargo, and complying with transportation regulations.
- Maintain focus and alertness during extended driving shifts to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
- Possess excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and facilitate smooth interactions with colleagues and attendees.
- Provide and wear steel-toed boots for personal safety and compliance with workplace regulations.
- Possess existing qualifications for operating tractors, or be willing to undergo tractor training
Working Conditions
- Shifts ranging between 8 to 12 hours.
- Overtime will be compensated in accordance with provincial law.
- Work environment will be outdoors, requiring exposure to all weather conditions.
