Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our collaborative, cross-functional team this summer. This opportunity runs from June through August, with flexible hours that can accommodate part-time to full-time availability—and includes the possibility of extension beyond the summer term. Although this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates based in Manitoba.
Working closely with the Human Resources Manager, the intern will support a variety of HR functions and gain valuable hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and day-to-day HR operations. Duties and responsibilities

Assist with recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, reference checks, and communication with candidates.

Support onboarding and offboarding tasks to ensure a smooth employee experience.

Help prepare and organize HR communications, documents, and internal resources.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.

Respond to routine HR inquiries and help triage requests within the HR team.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.

Draft letters and correspondence such as employment verifications.

Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Previous administrative or customer service experience is an asset.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.

Comfortable working remotely and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
