Job Purpose
Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
The Operations Support role is crucial for aiding the Operations team in executing essential tasks to ensure the seamless operation of events. Responsibilities encompass a diverse array of duties such as signage installation, cleanliness maintenance, exhibitor supply delivery, pressure washing, painting, landscaping, shuttling, and garbage collection. The overarching goal is to optimize event logistics and infrastructure for efficient functioning.
The duration of this role is flexible ranging from mid-June 2025 to the beginning of August 2025.
Duties and responsibilities
- Install signs according to specifications and guidelines
- Perform landscaping tasks including raking, grass cutting, and weed trimming
- Fill holes and maintain the overall appearance of the grounds
- Paint designated areas as needed
- Clean assigned areas thoroughly and dispose of garbage properly
- Arrange tables and chairs in event spaces according to layouts
- Deliver and set up supplies such as furniture, troughs, and fencing
- Provide delivery services for ice and water to exhibitors
- Operate shuttle service as required, ensuring timely and safe transportation for visitors or participants
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License preferred
- Experience operating RTV/UTV, farm tractor, telehandlers, riding lawn mowers is an asset
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Applicants are required to provide their own steel-toed boots for safety compliance.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Shifts ranging between 8 to 12 hours.
- Overtime will be compensated in accordance with provincial law.
- Work environment will be outdoors, requiring exposure to all weather conditions.
