Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.
We are seeking an individual contributor to join our collaborative, cross-functional team. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department's daily operations, ensuring seamless and efficient processes. This position demands excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. Duties and responsibilities
- Conducting screening calls and facilitating interviews for hiring managers, conducting reference checks and other recruitment administration.
- Conducting pre- and post-onboarding activities with new hires and facilitating new hire onboarding procedures.
- Contribute to and support the development and delivery of HR communications, policies, and programs
- Actively participate in special projects and initiatives, such as planning and executing the employee recognition program, North Star Club.
- Conducts exit interviews and reports findings to HR Operations team
- Prepare employment verification letters and other correspondence as required.
- Respond to internal and external human resources related enquiries or route within the Human Resources team accordingly.
- Maintain employee records and update HR databases with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Propose solutions for continuous improvement related to HR processes, policies, and overall HR effectiveness.
- Actively participate in and assist in the coordination of employee culture events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a recruitment coordinator/assistant and/or human resources generalist
- University degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess strong time management and organizational skills to be able to successfully manage tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills needed; as well as strong attention to detail
- Must possess a strong client focus with demonstrated success in developing working relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
